HYDROQUINONE - TOPICAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Eldoquin, Epiquin Micro, LUSTRA, Melaenx

USES: This medication is used to temporarily fade dark skin spots such as freckles and “age spots”.

HOW TO USE: This medication is for use on the skin only. Use carefully if appyling to the face. Avoid contact with the eyes and muoth. Use as directed, usually tiwce a day. For best results, apply a small amount of medication on the skin to be terated. A thin layer is all this is needed. Rub in gently. Do not use on irrittaed or broken skin.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause dry skin, burning, irritation, redness, cracking or peeling of the skin or a rash. Inform your doctor if any of these symptoms continue or become worse. Notify your dotcor if you develop: a skin rash, swelling in the area the medication was applied to. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: a gradual blue-black darkening of the skin (ochronosis). In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medcial attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, other infections, any allergies (especially to sulfites, certain brands of this medication cnotain sulfites). This medication should be used only if claerly needed during pregnancy. Disucss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not knwon if this medication is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescrpition medication you use, including: all skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without dotcor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If ovedrose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harfmul if swallowed.

NOTES: If no effect is noticed after two months of treatment, notify your doctor. For best effects, avoid sun expsoure. Use a sunscreen and wear protectvie clothing while outside.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing shcedule. Do not “double-up” the dose to ctach up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 dgerees C) away from heat and light. Discard unused medication afetr the expiration date noted on the container.
