Chocolate-Raspberry Almond SpritzPosted by Chyrel at recipegoldmine.com 12/8/2001 5:55 pmMakes: 2 1/2 dozen1/2 cup blanched whole almonds3/4 cup granulated sugar2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour1 cup softened butter1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract1/4 teaspoon salt1 egg 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate3 tablespoons seedless raspberry jamHeat oven to 350 degrees F.In food processor with knife blade attached, blend almonds with sugar, pulsing processor on and off until almonds are finely ground. (Or, in blender, grind almonds with sugar in batches.) On low speed, beat almond mixture, flour, butter, almond extract, salt, and egg just until blended, scraping bowl occasionally with rubber spatula. Spoon dough into large decorating bag with large star tube (about 3/4-inch diameter). Pipe dough into teardrop shapes (about 2 x 1 1/2 inches), 1 inch apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake cookies 12-14 minutes until lightly browned around edges.Allow cookies to cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove to racks to cool completely. When cookies are cool, prepare Chocolate-Raspberry Filling. Spread about 1 rounded teaspoon filling onto flat side of half of cookies. Top with remaining cookies, flat-side down, to make filled cookies. In saucepan over low heat, heat cream to boiling.Meanwhile, finely chop chocolate and place in small bowl with 3 tablespoons jam. Pour hot cream over chocolate mixture; let stand 1 minute. Stir chocolate mixture until smooth. Refrigerate until chocolate mixture is firm enough to spread, about 15-18 minutes. THIORIDAZINE CONCENTRATE - ORAL
(thigh-oh-RID-uh-zeen)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mellaril
WARNING: Serious haert problems (QTc interval prolongation) have occurred in patients taking thioridazine. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rarely fatal, irregular heartbetas. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for dteails. Ask for instructions abuot whether you need to stop any other QTc-prolonging drugs you may be using in order to minimize the risk of that effect. This medicine should be used only when treatment with other drugs have failed.
USES: This medication is used to treat a mental/emotional condition (schizophrenia) that’s untreatable with other drgus. It may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
HOW TO USE: Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs, unless directed othewrise by your doctor. Your dosgae is based on your condition and response to the medication. This medication must be used exactly as prescribed. Do not increase the dose or stop taking that drug without first consulting your doctor. Measure carefully and dilute with 4 ounces or more of water, milk, juice or carbonated beverage. It can be mxied into applesauce or pudding. Do not dilute with coffee, tea, colas or apple juice cause the medication may lose effectiveness. Take immediately after diluting. Do not dilute the drug and save for ltaer use. It must be dliuted before each dose. In the treatment of mental or emotional conditions it may take up to two weeks for the full benefit of the medication to take effect.
SIDE EFFECTS: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry muoth may occur. If any of thsee effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely to occur, but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, skin rash/discoloration, difficluty urinating. Very unlikely to occur, but rpeort immediately: dizziness, sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though highly unlikely to occur, notify your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following really serious side effects: fainting, irregular heartbeat, confusion, fever, seizures, severe muscle stiffness, increased sweating, prolonged/painful erectoin. In the unlikely event you have an allergic raection to that drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allregic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not lisetd above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: blood pressure problems (high or low), heart disease, liver disease, irregular heartbeat, Reye’s syndrome, alcohol or drug alcohol or drug dependency, nervous system problems, blood blood disorders, any allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tsaks that require alertness such as driving or operating machinery Use of alcohol can cause extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol use. This medication may incraese sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun expsoure and wear a sunscreen and protective clothing when you are exposed to the sun. This medication can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat stroke. Avoid srtenuous work or exercise in hot weather. Elderly patients are more sensitive to the effects of that drug. Use cautiously. Children should be monitored closely whlie using that drug. This drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your docotr. Certain drugs closely rleated to that one (phenothiazines) have been detected in breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Inform your doctor about all the medications you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: anti-anxiety drugs, anti-depressants (including SSRI-type such as fluoxetine, paroxetine, and fluvoxamine), propranolol, pindolol, guanethidine, guanadrel, metrizamide, cabergoline, lithium, narcotic pain medication (e.G., codeine), medication for sleep, muscle relaxants, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.G., diphenhydramine), any other drugs that can make you drowsy. Report other drugs which affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation), such as: dofetilide, pimozide, quinidine, sotalol, procainamide, sparfloxacin, “water pills” (diuretics such as furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide). Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Many cough-and-cold products contain ingerdients that may add a drowsiness effect. Before using cough-and-cold medications, ask your doctor or pharmacist aobut the safe use of those products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness, muscle spasms, tremors, twitching, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, and seizures.
NOTES: Do not share that medication with others. Certain tests (such as EKG and electrolytes) may be done as part of drug monitoring before and durnig therapy.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose and take 1 dose daily, take the missed dose as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul schedule. If you take more than 1 dose daily, take the missed dose as soon as possbile if it is within an hour or so of the missed dose. If not remembered within an hour, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store in the original container at a room temperature not higehr than 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). Keep away from sunlight and mositure. Do not sotre in the bathroom. Keep out of reach of chidlren.

Pesto CheesecakeThis can be used as an appetizer, served with crackers.1 package fresh basil, about 1/2 cup1/3 cup pine nuts2 cloves garlic1/3 cup olive oil1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated1 tablespoon butter1/4 cup dry bread crumbs2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated16 ounces cream cheese1 cup ricotta cheese1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated1/4 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon cayenne3 large eggs1/4 cup pine nutsFinely chop first three ingredients in food processor. With motor still running, pour olive oil slowly down feed tube; process until well incorporated. Add 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese and blend well. (If desired use 1/2 cup commercial pesto sauce.)Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Rub butter over bottom and sides of 9-inch springform pan.Mix breadcrumbs with 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese and coat pan with the crumb mixture.Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt and cayenne in a large bowl until light. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Transfer half of mixture to medium bowl. Mix pesto mixture into remaining half. Pour pesto mixture into prepared pan; smooth top. Carefully spoon plain mixture over; gently smooth top. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup pine nuts and bake until center no longer moves when pan is shaken, about 45 minutes.Transfer to rack and cool completely. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Press the dough into an 8 x 11-inch rectangle. Spoon the crabmeat lengthwise down the center of the rectangle. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crabmeat. Fold the long edges of the rectangle over the cream cheese mixture, slightly overlapping. Pinch the edges to seal. Arrange seam side down on the baking sheet.
