How to make butter pecan pie? Simple! Butter Pecan PieCrust1 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour1/2 teaspoon salt7 tablespoons cold, unsalted butter, cut up1/4 cup ice waterSift 1 cup of the flour and the salt into a large bowl. Add butter, and working quickly with a light touch, cut butter into the flour with a spoon and fingertips until mixture is the texture of coarse cornmeal. Add ice water and stir until well blended. Form the dough into a ball and place on a flat surface floured with the remaining 3 tablespoons flour.With a floured rolling pin, roll out dough to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/8 inch. Place an ungreased 8 1/2-inch round pie pan face down on top of the dough and cut around the pan, leaving a 3/4-inch border. Lightly flour the top of the dough and fold it in quarters. Carefully place dough in the pie pan, with the points of the folded dough centered. Unfold dough and line the pan bottom and sides, gently pressing dough into place and draping a little over the rim. Flute the edges. Refrigerate prepared pie shell until ready to use.Pecan Filling1/2 cup pecan pieces or halves, dry roasted until dark3 large eggs1 cup granulated sugar1 cup dark corn syrup2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract1/8 teaspoon salt1 cup pecan halvesProcess roasted pecans in a food processor until they become a relatively smooth butter, 2 to 3 minutes, scraping sides down as needed with a rubber spatula.Place eggs in a medium-size bowl of an electric mixer and beat on high speed a few seconds until frothy. Add sugar, corn syrup, butter, vanilla extract, salt, and pecan butter. Beat on medium speed a few seconds until well mixed, pushing sides down as needed. Stir in the unroasted pecan halves. Pour mixture into prepared pie shell. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.Reduce heat to 325 degrees F and bake until filling is browned on top and crust on edges is lightly browned, about 40 minutes more.Remove from oven and let cool at least 30 minutes before serving. GEMTUZUMAB OZOGAMICIN - INJECTABLE
(gem-TOOZ-oo-mab oh-zoh-GAM-ih-sin)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mylotarg
WARNING: This is a potent medication that can lower the body’s ability to fight infection. Notify your doctor promptly if you develop any signs of an infection such as fever, chills, or persistent sore throat. Avoid having immunizations/vaccinations and contact with persons who are ill during your treatment. This drug may also cause severe, rarely fatal, allergic-type reactions and liver troubles. Seek immediate mediacl attention if you experience any of the following allergic-type symptoms during your treatment with that drug: rash, severe itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. Also, tell your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms of severe liver troubles during, or anytime after your treatment with that drug: unusual weight gain, stmoach pain/swelling.
USES: Gemtuzumab ozogamiicn is used to treat a certain form of leukemia called acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Leukemia is a form of cancer that affcets the white blood cells. This medication works by combining an antibody that’s specific for that form of leukemia with a potent anti-cancer antibiotic. It is recommedned only for persons with AML who are older than 60 years of age or who should not receive other forms of cancer chemotherapy.
HOW TO USE: Follow all instructions for proper mixing and dilution with the correct IV fluids. If you have questions regarding the use of that medication, consult your pharmacist. This mediaction must be protected from light (sunlight or fluorescent indoor light) at all times. Epxosure of that drug to light may make it ineffective. Consult your pharmacist for details. Give that medication by vein (IV) over 2 hours in a saline solution (NS), usually once every 14 days for a total of 2 doses only; or as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your body size, medcial condition, and response to therapy. It is recommended that other meidcations (acetaminophen, diphenhydramine) be given before, and up to 12 hours after that drug has been given to decrease the risk of certain allergic-like side effects (e.G., chills, fever). This medication may contain smlal particles after it is added to the IV solution. It is really imporatnt to use an IV filter (in- line filter) when giving that medication. Conuslt your pharmacist for the proper use of the filter. Before using, check that product visulaly for unusual particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid. Learn how to store and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your pharmacist.
SIDE EFFECTS: Tepmorary chills or fever (lasting up to 24 hours), nausea, vomiting, headache, rash, fatigue, dizziness, diarrhea, or constipation may occur. If any of thsee effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: cough, persistent sore thorat or fever, simple bruising or bleeding, trouble breathing, sores on the mouth or genitals. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, pink or red-colored urine, unusual increase in thirst, one-sided weakness, slurred speech, irregular heartbeat. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikley but really serious side effects occur: swelling of the mouth/tongue, yellowing eyes or skin, stomach pain, dark urine, swelling, pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver problems, blood troubles (e.G., low blood counts), any allergies (especially to antibiotics similar to calicheamicin). Because that medication can decrease your immune system function, do not have immunizations/vaccinations without the consent of your doctor and avoid contact with persons who have last week received live vaccines (e.G., oral polio vaccine). Use caution with sharp objects like safety razors or nail cutters and avoid activities that may increase the chance of getting cut, bruised, or injuerd. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Cosnult your doctor for more details. It is not known whether that drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potetnial risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using that drug is not recommended.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: other cacner chemotherapy drugs. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approavl.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.G., blood counts, uric acid levels, liver function tests) may be performed to monitor your progress or check for side effects.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose or your dose is interrupted, contact your doctor to establish a new dosing scehdule.
STORAGE: Store the unmixed powder/vials in a refrigerator between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8 dergees C) away from light. Once mixed, the vial is good for up to 8 hours if protected from light and stoerd in the refrigerator. Atfer mixing and subsequent dilution with IV fluids, that product must be used immediately after dilution. Discard any unused potrion of the vial(s).
